Former Hooters Tour Member Earns First PGA Victory
Palm Beach Gardens, FL (March 5, 2007)…It took seventy-five holes, but former Hooters Tour member Mark Wilson captured his first career PGA Tour title Monday at The Honda Classic by sinking a clutch birdie putt on the third playoff hole.The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native fired rounds of 72-66-66-71 for a four day total of five-under par 275 and a spot in a four way playoff with Boo Weekley, Camillo Villegas and Jose Coceres. This was the first four way playoff on Tour since 2004 when former Hooters Tour member Vaughn Taylor won his first Reno Tahoe Open
“I’m just thrilled,” said the University of North Carolina grad. “I am just tickled to death.”
Wilson collects a career best $990,000 for his first win and moves from 114th to 7th on the PGA TOUR Money
list. With the win, Wilson is exempt from Q-school until 2009. Wilson had gone to ten straight Q-schools.

In four seasons on the Hooters Tour (1998-2001), Wilson collected three wins and more than $167,000 in earnings.
