Current Members Joe Affrunti, Travis Bertoni finish Top 10 in Nationwide Event
 
Longs, SC—Former NGA Hooters Tour player Bubba Watson nearly captured the PGA Championship on Sunday afternoon. Watson, who played on the NGA Hooters Tour in 2003 and 2004, shot a final-day 64 to get himself into a playoff with eventual-winner Martin Kaymer. A win by Watson would have been his first PGA “Major” and the 13th “Major” win by former NGA Hooters Tour players.
 
Zach Johnson, the 2001 NGA Player of the Year, finished T3 and one shot out of the playoff. Former NGA Hooters Tour winner Camilo Villegas also finished in the Top 10 at the final “Major” of the season, placing eighth at Whistling Straits.
 
Current NGA Hooters Tour members Joe Affrunti and Travis Bertoni had good showings in the Nationwide Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship. Both golfers finished with at 16-under 272 and tied for ninth. Fellow NGA member Roberto Castro shot a final-day, bogey-free 67 to move inside the top 20, while NGA member Nick Rousey closed with a 68 to finish T37.
 
Jason Schultz was the highest-finishing former NGA Hooters Tour player. Schultz, who played on the NGA Hooters Tour in 1997, finished at 20-under par and T2. Former NGA players Kyle Thompson and Brandt Jobe both finished T5. All told, eight current or former NGA Hooters Tour players finished T9 or better at the Price Cutter Charity Championship.

All told, the NGA Hooters Tour’s alumni have an incredible 12 “Majors” to their credit. The NGA Hooters Tour has helped hundreds of professionals acquire their PGA, Senior PGA, and Nationwide Tour cards. In fact, 48% of the players that earned their 2010 PGA Tour card, and 53% of the players that earned full exempt status on the Nationwide Tour started their careers on the NGA Hooters Tour.
