NGA/Hooters Carolina Series
Black Bear Golf Club
July 21-23, 2010

Longs, SC (July 23, 2010)…Mark Silvers (Savannah, GA) continues his assault on the Carolina Series during the month of July notching his second win in as many events at the Black Bear Golf Club on Friday.

The former South Carolina Gamecock golfer posted rounds of 68-65-68 en route to a fifteen under par, 201 three day total and narrow one stroke victory over Luke Hart (Blythewood, SC) who finished at fourteen under par 202.

Silvers fired an outward nine of two under par 34 only to find himself one stroke back of Hart who carded a 31. Silvers would battle back to tie it up heading to the 18th tee. Silvers would go on to birdie the last hitting a wedge to nearly a foot while Hart missed the green short and narrowly missed holing out his chip shot for birdie and a tie.

“Luke (Hart) and Trey (Bowling) played well all day. I hit a great wedge into nine (the groups 18th hole) to about a foot and had to watch Luke run his chip shot just past the hole for his birdie, he almost made it” said Silvers on the final round “it was a great finish”.

Trey Bowling (Glasgow, KY) finished in solo 3rd at thirteen under par 203 after a final round four under par 68 while Zach Byrd (Calabash, NC) finished in solo 4th at eleven under par 205.

Silvers took home $4,400 for the win while Luke hart receives $2,200 for his runner up finish.

The Top 10 members on the 2010 Carolina Series money list will earn full exempt status on the 2011 NGA/Hooters Tour Pro Series.  The top three finishers each week get into the following weeks Pro Series event to compete for a guaranteed $200,000 purse.
