Indian Trail, NC (May 28, 2010)…Jay Woodson (Richmond, VA) fired a final round 64 to win his fourth career NGA Hooters Carolina event and the sixth Carolina Summer Series event of 2010 hosted by Charlotte National. (Jay Woodson pictured left)Woodson, who played his college golf at James Madison, carded rounds of 68-70-64 en route to a fourteen under par total and his second win at Charlotte National in the past three seasons.
“The last time I won here I shot final round 64,” said Woodson. “Today I wanted to try to clip that by one but I came up just short but it was still enough to get the win.”
Adam Hart (Blythewood, SC) finished in solo second after carding a final round four-under par 68, giving him a three day total of ten-under par 206.
Joel Hendry (Blufton, SC) carded a three round total of eight under par 208 to finish in 3rd place alone. Hendry receives $1,550 for his 3rd place finish.
Woodson takes home $3,800 for his victory, while Hart receives $1,800 for his runner-up finish.
The top 10 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2011 Hooters Pro Series.
The Carolina Summer Series travels to Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, NC, June 1-3 for the seventh event of the 2010 season.
