Fiese Cashes In At Casino Classic

The Buffalo Run Casino Classic
Peoria Ridge Golf Club
July 27-30, 2006

Miami, OK (July 30, 2006)…DJ Fiese (Smyrna, GA) fired an eight-under par 64 Sunday in the final round of the Buffalo Run Casino Classic over the 6960 yard, par 72 Peoria Ridge GC to win his second career Hooters Tour title.

“I played flawless today, I think the best round I have ever played as a professional, I was lost in the moment” said the former Georgia State golfer. “Coming in Tee was playing awesome all week, I don’t think he made a bogey until today.”

“The wind was definitely a factor today, but I played in it on Thursday and yesterday and with the wind, ninety percent is picking the right club and I was able to pressure him early with birdies on four of the first nine holes”

Fiese carded rounds of 65-66-69-64 for a four day total of twenty-four-under par 264 and a commanding four stroke victory over third round leader Tee McCabe (MarcoIsland, FL). McCabe struggled to a front nine 38 Sunday opening the door for Fiese before bringing it back with a 32 on the backside for a two-under par 70 and his second straight second place finish.

“I executed all week and just stayed with my game plan all day today. Tee was a class act especially at the end of the tournament when he said those nice comments about me.”

Chris Stroud (Brunswick, GA) finished all alone in third place at eighteen-under par 270 after firing a final round five-under par 67.

Michael Boyd (Tulsa) headed up the Oklahoma contingent in the Buffalo Run Casino Classic after firing a four day total of seventeen-under par 271. Defending Champion, Chris James (Edmond) fired a five-under par 67 Sunday and finished one stroke behind Boyd at sixteen-under par 272. Local amateur Tyler Carson carded a final round 67 Sunday and finished at six-under par 282, while Greg Mason (Tulsa) finished at even par 288 and Blake Finley (Shawnee) finished at 293 for the week.

For his second career win, Fiese collects $20,463, while Tee McCabe takes home $10,004 for his second place finish.
