Former Member Grabs Third Title
Avondale, LA (April 26, 2009)…With a one-under par 71 in Sunday's final round of The Zurich Classic, former Hooters Tour member Jerry Kelly captured his third title and first in seven years (picture left courtesy of Martin/Getty Images).The forty-two year old golfer fired rounds of 68-66-67-71 for a four day total of fourteen-under par 274 and one stroke victory over Charles Howell III, Charlie Wi and Rory Sabatini.
“It's been a long time,” said the Wisconsin native of his first win since 2002. "I sometimes doubted if it was ever going to happen again.
Kelly played the Hooters Tour from 1991-92, 1994 and collected one win in his three years on the tour.
