The Amelia Island Plantation NGA Classic presented by Valley Crest
Oak Marsh Golf Course @ Amelia Island Plantation
March 5- March 8, 2009
Amelia Island, FL (March 8, 2009)…Ted Potter (Silver Springs, FL) fired a bogey free final round 67 at the Amelia Island Plantation NGA Classic presented by Valley Crest over the 6775 yard, par 72 Oak Marsh Golf Course to clinch his third career NGA Hooters Tour victory.

“It feels good to start off the season with a win, I’ve struggled with my putting for awhile now so it’s nice to see putts starting to fall sometimes” said Potter of his play this week at Amelia Island Plantation.

Potter, who finished 5th on the 2009 NGA Hooters/ Bridgestone Winter Series money list, carded rounds of 68-69-69-67 for a four day total of fifteen under par 273 and a two stroke win over third round leader Stephen Shellock (Orlando, FL) who finished at thirteen under par 275.

“There is so much trouble you can get into on this golf course off the tee.  I just did whatever it took to get the ball in the fairway.  I think I hit almost every club in the bag off the tee at some point,”  commented Potter on the challenging Oak Marsh Golf Course.

David Miller (Daphne, AL) finished solo third at ten under par 278 while BJ Pitzen (Lakeland, FL), David Denham (St. Simons Island, GA) and Kyle Ellis (Senatobia, MS) finished in a tie for fourth at nine under par.

A group of five golfers finished in a tie for seventh after posting seven under par 280 totals. This group includes Luke List (Nashville, TN), Ben Briscoe (Wales), Kelly Sellers (Bartow, FL), Justin Smith (Franklin, TN) and former Jacksonville State University golfer Russell Knox (Jacksonville Beach, FL).

Potter takes home the winners check in the amount of $33,566 while Shellock received $16,665 for his runner-up effort.
