Dempsey Cashes in At Casino Classic

The Buffalo Run Casino Classic
Peoria Ridge Golf Club
June 21-24, 2007

Miami, OK (June 24, 2007)…Jordan Dempsey (Baton Rouge, LA) fired a seven-under par 65 in Sunday afternoon’s final round of the Buffalo Run Casino Classic over the 6960 yard, par 72 Peoria Ridge Golf Club to garner his first ever Hooters Tour Title.

“It feels great to win today, especially having my dad on the bag,” said Dempsey. “This is a belated Father’s Day gift of sorts to my dad for walking thirty-six holes with me today.”

“Without the support of my wife (McCall) and my family I wouldn’t be here today,” said the twenty-five year old pro. “”I was really frustrated with my game two weeks ago after a poor round and she talked me through it and look what happened.”

Dempsey, a graduate of the university of Mississippi, carded rounds of 67-65-67-65 for a four day total of twenty-four-under par 264 and a one stroke victory over Australians Andrew Tschudin and Bronson La’Cassie. Tschudin and La’Cassie finished the week at twenty-three-under par 265.

“Coming into today my dad and I figured that it would take two 65’s to get it done today and we came up two short of that number, but it worked out in the end for us.”

Blaine Peffley (Lebanon, PA), Tim Ailes (Gahanna, OH) and Brandon Brown (Shelbyville, KY) finished in a tie for third at twenty-one-under par 267. Peffley fired the low round of the tournament on Sunday with a ten-under par 62, while Brown and Ailes closed with 65 and 69 respectively.

Brett Myers (Broken Arrow) headed up the Oklahoma contingent in the Buffalo Run Casino Classic for the week after carding a four day total of fourteen-under par 274. Brad Risenhoover (Stigler) closed with an even par 72 Sunday and finished at ten-under par 278, while Grant Downey (Sand Springs) rounded out the contingent with a seven-under par 281.

Dempsey collects a career best $33,566 for his first career win, while Tschudin and La’Cassie take home $13,762 for their runner-up finishes.

“I would like to think my teacher Bill Anderson and my performance coach Dr. Bill Moore for helping to get me into position to win this week.”

The Hooters Tour takes six weeks off before swinging back into action in Choctaw, Mississippi for The Pearl River Resort Classic.
