Former Hooters Tour Member Earns Third PGA Tour Win
Palm Desert, CA...Former Hooters Tour Player of The Year, Chad Campbell, captured his third career PGA Tour title Sunday at The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and first since winning the Bay Hill in 2004.
The Andrews, Texas native fired rounds of 63-66-68-67-71 for a five day total of 25-under 335, three shots in front of Scott Verplank and 2000 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic champion Jesper Parnevik.
"It's nice to come back after the way things worked out last Sunday, to come out today and get the job done," said Campbell, who was tied with David Toms for the lead in Hawaii last week before shooting a closing 70 to Toms' winning 65.
Campbell took the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic lead in the second round of the 90-hole tournament and never gave it up, although Verplank briefly drew even early in the closing round.
In four full seasons on the Hooters Tour, Campbell collected 13 wins and a $776, 976 including a 2000 season that saw him win eight times in the first sixteen events. Campbell is the career leader in both wins and money earned on the Hooters Tour.
